METHOD FOR ASSESSING STATE OF CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM IN PATIENTS WITH POSTMASTECTOMY SYNDROME Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61B5/55

Abstract RU 2754059 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to medical imaging, and can be used to assess functional changes in the central nervous system in patients with postmastectomy syndrome. Functional magnetic resonance imaging (FMRI) is performed at rest. In this case, studies are carried out on the medial prefrontal cortex, right and left hippocampus, subcallosal cortex, cerebellum, medial nuclei of the right and left thalamus, anterior sections of the right and left middle temporal gyrus, compare them with the results obtained in a group of healthy women of the same age, taken as the norm. The obtained images are aligned with the anatomical structures of the brain by conducting a pulse sequence of T1-weighted gradient echo with preparation of magnetization and fast data collection. A comparative analysis of the maps of functional relationships of the patient relative to the norm is carried out. When a decrease in functional connectivity is detected between the medial prefrontal cortex and/or the right and left hippocampus, and/or the subcallosal cortex, and/or the cerebellum, and/or the medial nuclei of the right and left thalamus, and/or with the anterior sections of the right and left middle temporal gyrus consider functional changes in the central nervous system significant, capable of inducing a neurodegenerative process that requires treatment.

EFFECT: invention provides the definition of functional changes in the central nervous system that require treatment by analyzing the connectivity of the brain.
