FIELD: camera calibration.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to a calibration method for calibrating a camera of a mobile device for determining an analyte in a sample and a determination method for determining an analyte in a sample using a camera of a mobile device. The claimed calibration method (110) for calibrating the camera (112) of a mobile device (114) for determining an analyte in a sample includes: obtaining at least one image of at least one object (116) using the camera (112), while the specified receiving source (120) of illumination of the mobile device (114) is turned on; determining, based on the image obtained in step a), at least one first region (124) in the image that is affected by direct reflection of light emanating from the illumination source (120) and reflected by the object (116); and determining at least one second region (128) in the image that does not substantially overlap with the first region (124), and returning the second region (128) as a target region (130) for determining the location of the test field (132) strips (134) in the next determination step. In this case, the determination step is performed after implementing the calibration method.

EFFECT: increase in reliability and accuracy of measurements.
