SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for obtaining catalytic compositions for the polymerization of olefins. The method for obtaining a catalyst carrier includes: bringing an acid-soluble titanium-containing compound into contact with acid to form the first mixture; bringing the first mixture into contact with alkali metal silicate to form hydrogel, which has silicon dioxide content from 18 wt.% to 35 wt.% per the total weight of hydrogel; bringing hydrogel into contact with an alkaline solution to form aged hydrogel; washing aged hydrogel to form washed hydrogel; and drying washed hydrogel to obtain a titanium-containing carrier based on silicon dioxide, in which the carrier has pore volume equal to or exceeding 1.4 cm3/g. The method for obtaining a catalyst includes: bringing an acid-soluble titanium-containing compound and a chromium-containing compound into contact with acid to form the first mixture; bringing the first mixture into contact with alkali metal silicate to form hydrogel, which has silicon dioxide content from 18 wt.% to 35 wt.% per the total weight of hydrogel; bringing hydrogel into contact with an alkaline solution to form aged hydrogel; washing aged hydrogel to form washed hydrogel; and drying washed hydrogel to form chrome-plated titanium-containing silicon dioxide, in which the carrier has pore volume equal to or exceeding 1.4 cm3/g.
EFFECT: providing the catalyst with larger pore volume and higher activity.
