FIELD: metal processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the processing of metals by pressure; it can be used to restore a landing surface under a rolling bearing. A method includes drilling a cylindrical hole, the axis of which coincides with the geometric axis of a workpiece, wear compensation by moving metal from underlying layers of a shaft. Metal is moved from underlying layers of the shaft by pressing a cylindrical steel tool into the mentioned hole with a tension of i=0.3…0.5 mm, the length of which corresponds to the length of the landing surface of the shaft neck under the rolling bearing, wherein the pressing is performed with simultaneous electric contact heating of the deformable volume of the shaft to forging temperatures by applying electric current to the landing surface of the shaft neck and to the cylindrical steel tool, after pressing, the landing surface of the shaft neck is cooled and a surface layer with a hardness of HRC 25-55 mm is formed by adjusting the cooling speed and mechanical processing is performed to fit the landing size.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to restore the landing neck of the shaft under the rolling bearing and improves the quality of the press connection of shaft - rolling bearing.
