FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a rotary drum melting furnace for recycling non-ferrous metal waste, in particular, aluminium scrap. The furnace is comprised of a cylindrical body, a burner apparatus, a loading window, a taphole for molten metal drainage, a heat-insulating layer consisting of three sheets of heat-insulating MKRK-500 mullite silica cardboard and a layer of fire-clay light-weight bricks, lined with a layer of corundum ramming mass, the burner apparatus is made in the form of a gas seventeen-mixer injection burner, wherein five central mixers with attachments are placed in the centre, having twelve ribs providing a flame of 3.2 m in length, and twelve peripheral mixers without attachments allow for a flame of 2.3 m in length. The furnace has a burner shield rotating mechanism configured for loading charge into the furnace through the burner window with the burner removed, a drive mechanism for rotating the furnace relative to the horizontal axis in both directions to an angle of 105°. A molten metal drainage taphole is provided in the furnace, made in quick-change taphole bricks in a box to provide the possibility of replacement thereof without stopping the furnace. The furnace has a dust and gas purification system containing a mixing chamber, a smoke pump, a three-section dust and gas purification unit. In the process of melting, the furnace performs rotational movements relative to the horizontal axis in both directions at an angle of 110° by means of the drive mechanism.
EFFECT: structural simplicity is ensured, service life is increased, emissions of hazardous gases into the atmosphere are reduced.
