FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to surgery, and can be used to diagnose fixation stability and diastasis of the sternum after a median sternotomy. In patients before the operation of the median sternotomy, at the time of maximum expiration, the angle in the region of the jugular notch is measured, then the angle in the region of the xiphoid process is measured. On the 3rd, 5th, 7th day after the operation, repeated measurements of the angles are performed. An increase in angles up to 10° degrees indicates the stability of fixation of the sternum, 10° degrees and higher indicates diastasis of the sternum.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to quickly diagnose sternum diastasis in the early postoperative period, including in critically ill patients, due to the exclusion of the use of radiation diagnostics, as well as due to the possibility of frequent repetition of the study and combination with functional tests.
