SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to device (100) and method for extracting an end part of material sheet (40) wound up in roll (152). In particular, the present invention relates to a device and a method for extracting an end part of tobacco material in the form of sheets for use in an aerosol generating product, for example such as a cigarette or a tobacco-containing product of a “heated without burning” type. The device contains rotating roll holder (150) made with the possibility of inserting in the roll, hinged lever (180), suction device (110) having contact surface (124) containing first part (130) capable of applying the first suction power, and second part (132) capable of applying the second suction power, other than zero, while the first suction power is higher than the second suction power, while the suction device is attached to the hinged lever, and control unit (190) made with the possibility of controlling the movement of the hinged lever so that the first part of the contact surface of the suction device contacts with the roll.
EFFECT: safe extraction of the end part of the material sheet in the automated process, in which the material sheet is wound up in a roll.
