FIELD: roll unwinding methods.
SUBSTANCE: inventions relate to a method for unwinding a roll of a rolled sheet and to a device for unwinding a sheet of material wound into a roll. The method for unwinding a roll of a rolled sheet, which is a homogenized tobacco sheet, is characterized in that it includes the following steps: the free part has a contact line as a line, separating the free part and the rest of the folded sheet; providing a roller having a second axis of rotation substantially parallel to the first axis of rotation; bringing the roller into contact with the roll on the contact line; unwinding the sheet from the roll by pulling the sheet in the unwinding direction so that the angle between the free part of the sheet and the radius of the roll at the contact line is 110 degrees to 150 degrees or 200 degrees to 300 degrees; keeping the roller in contact with the outer surface of the roll while unwinding the sheet from the roll. The device for unwinding a sheet of material wound into a roll is characterized in that it contains: a roll of a rolled sheet, which is a homogenized tobacco sheet, having an outer surface and a free part of the sheet unwound from the roll, while the free part has a contact line as a line separating the free part and the rest of the folded sheet; a roll holder holding the roll, rotatable about the first axis; a roller having a second axis of rotation substantially parallel to the first axis of rotation, the roller being in contact with an outer surface of the roll at a line of contact; a pulling tool adapted to pull a free portion of the roll sheet along the unwinding direction; wherein the roller and the pulling device are respectively located so that the angle between the free part of the sheet along the unwinding direction and the radius of the roll on the contact line is from 110 degrees to 150 degrees or from 200 degrees to 300 degrees.
EFFECT: inventions make it possible to optimize the unwinding of a sheet of homogenized tobacco material, to minimize damage to the material, and to increase the unwinding speed.
