FIELD: wireless communication.
SUBSTANCE: method includes transmitting information describing multiple sets of properties supported by the UE to the network node. The information may include one or more InitialFeatureList and one or more ExtensionFeatureList, wherein each ExtensionFeatureList is associated with a specific InitialFeatureList. The method also includes transmitting one or more BandCombination elements to the network node, wherein each element includes: a list of frequency bands wherein the UE is capable of operating simultaneously; a FeatureSetCombination element identifying the properties supported by the UE within each frequency band included in the list.
EFFECT: reduction in the service traffic required to declare extensions for the starting and/or initial sets of UE properties while ensuring backward compatibility with inherited network nodes incapable of recognising and/or supporting such extensions.
