METHOD FOR DIRECT INTRAOPERATIVE MEASUREMENT OF THE PRESSURE GRADIENT BETWEEN THE LEFT CARDIAC VENTRICLE AND THE AORTA Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61B17/00 A61B5/215

Abstract RU 2762165 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to cardiovascular surgery, and can be used for direct measurement of the pressure gradient between the left ventricle and the aorta. The purpose of the present invention consists in developing a method for direct intraoperative measurement of the peak and average pressure gradients between the left ventricle and the aorta without using additional needles and accounting for the physiological nature of the gradient. The task set herein is solved by connecting pressure sensors BD SENSORS DMP 331 converting the oscillatory movements of the membrane into an electrical signal, the digitised signal is transmitted to a computer, and two pressure graphs are displayed using the TestComPort software: the pressure in the left cardiac ventricle and the pressure in the aorta, and based on the algorithm incorporated in the program, the peak and average pressure gradients are calculated at the specified moment of ejection of blood from the left cardiac ventricle, wherein the pressure sensors are connected via mains to the drainage of the left cardiac ventricle and the cardioplegic cannula installed in the ascending aorta.

EFFECT: application of the proposed method allows for simultaneous recording of the pressure curves in the aorta and the left cardiac ventricle with possibility of measuring the peak and average pressure gradient between the left ventricle and the aorta directly at the moment of blood ejection, accounting for the time difference in the peak pressure in the left ventricle and the aorta; without the need for additional trauma of the heart for installing additional needles.
