FIELD: mining.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to mining machines, namely to methods for operating a mining machine that includes a boom and an axe head supported on the boom, while the boom contains an enclosed chamber and a hole that is connected to the enclosed chamber via fluid. A method includes bringing the axe head into the interaction with a mine wall, creating the suction inside the enclosed chamber of the boom, and actuating a valve connected to the boom between a closed position, in which the hole is closed, and at least one open position, in which the hole is at least partially opened. The suction force is applied to the hole, when the valve is in at least one partially open position.
EFFECT: ensuring the automated control using information about the location and position of different parts of the mining machine for increasing the control efficiency of the mining machine.
