FIELD: chemical industry.
SUBSTANCE: method for increasing the concentration of already concentrated sulfuric acid includes a stage of distilling water from sulfuric acid by bringing it into contact with a distillation medium selected from air and process gas in a column of a sulfuric acid concentrator to increase the concentration of acid coming out of the column. A fraction of acid that comes out of the column is returned back to the cycle to a place upstream of the column through an acid recirculation system. Acid recirculation systems for the implementation of the specified method and an autonomous plant for sulfuric acid concentration are proposed.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the concentration capacity of sulfuric acid.
