METHOD FOR SELECTION OF SPRING SOFT WHEAT LINES WITH AN INCREASED CONTENT OF ANTHOCYANINS IN GRAIN Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A01H1/04

Abstract RU 2762804 C1

FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biotechnology. A promising commercial variety of spring bread wheat, adapted to growing conditions in a particular region, is crossed with a donor of dominant alleles of the Pp3 and Pp-D1 genes, which control the biosynthesis of purple anthocyanins in the pericarp of wheat grain. Plants of the F1 generation self-pollinate up to the F2 generation, the selection of plants of the F2 generation with a homozygous state of the alleles of the Pp3 and Pp-D1 genes is performed in three stages: at the first stage - according to the dark red color of the coleoptile, at the second and third stages - using PCR markers, linked to the Pp3 and Pp-D1 genes, respectively, then the selected F2 plants with the Pp-D1Pp-D1Pp3Pp3 genotype are subjected to a single backcrossing with the recurrent variety in the same growing season when their selection was made, then the plants at the BC1F2-3 stage are selected on the basis of visual assessment of the color of coleoptile and grain, and plants of generation BC1F3 and subsequent generations are tested in the field.

EFFECT: invention improves the accuracy of selection of spring soft wheat plants with an increased content of anthocyanins and expands the functionality of the known method.
