FIELD: driver-assistance systems.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method for driving assistance. The driver-assistance device comprises a controller configured to detect an obstacle in an adjacent lane of the traffic lane in which the subject vehicle is traveling, setting a range of motion lateral to the obstacle on the side of the subject vehicle when the obstacle is detected, setting at least one of a route, and speed of the vehicle in such a way that the vehicle in question does not impede the movement of another vehicle moving in an adjacent lane towards an obstacle in the driving range, and performing driving assistance using the established route and/or speed of the vehicle.
EFFECT: implementation of obstacle-aware driving assistance when the obstacle is present in the adjacent lane of the vehicle in question.
