FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, in particular to ophthalmology, and can be used to diagnose optic nerve atrophy after suffering optic neuritis in young patients. Scanning of the foveal region is carried out by the method of optical coherence tomography-angiography. The foveal area is scanned using the Cross Line protocol. In this case, the height of the photoreceptors is measured over the foveal region using the built-in ruler as the distance from the zone of articulation of the cones with the pigment epithelium to the myoid zone of the photoreceptors. If the height of photoreceptors is less than 55 microns, then optic nerve atrophy is diagnosed after suffering optic neuritis in young patients.
EFFECT: method provides for the diagnosis of optic nerve atrophy after suffering optic neuritis in young patients by determining the height of the photoreceptors.
