SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, the field of experimental pharmacology. A method for correcting osteoporosis and osteoporotic fractures with 3-hydroxy-2-ethyl-6-methylpyridinium nicotinate in the experiment includes modeling osteoporosis using bilateral oophorectomy and osteoporotic fractures of the femur in female Wistar rats. As a means of correction, a compound of 3-hydroxy-2-ethyl-6-methylpyridinium nicotinate is used at a dose of 3.8 mg/kg, which is administered daily intragastrically to a laboratory animal twice a day, against the background of osteoporosis modeling for eight weeks, and in case of fractures - against the background of modeling osteoporosis for twelve weeks.
EFFECT: invention provides a significant correction of osteoporosis and osteoporotic fractures.
