SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, the field of experimental pharmacology. A method for correcting osteoporosis and osteoporotic fractures in the experiment includes modeling osteoporosis using bilateral oophorectomy and osteoporotic fractures of the femur in female Wistar rats. As a means of correction, the compound 2-ethyl-6-methyl-3-hydroxypyridinium hydroxybutanedioate is used at a dose of 2 mg/kg, which is administered daily intragastrically to a laboratory animal once a day, against the background of modeling osteoporosis for eight weeks, and for fractures - against the background of modeling osteoporosis for twelve weeks.

EFFECT: invention provides effective prevention of a drop in the level of microcirculation in the proximal femoral metaphysis, slowing down the development of osteoporosis in a hypoestrogenic state, creating favorable conditions for successful consolidation of fractures.
