METHOD FOR PREDICTING PLACENTAL INSUFFICIENCY ASSOCIATED WITH MALPERFUSIONS IN THE FETAL VENOUS DUCT Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61B8/06

Abstract RU 2763106 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely obstetrics and perinatology, and can be used in predicting placental insufficiency associated with disorders in the fetal venous duct. To do this, dopplerometric indicators of blood flow velocity curves in the fetal venous duct are determined simultaneously with the first prenatal screening of pregnant women at 11-14 weeks. Then, at 19-21 weeks, all pregnant women, including those who were not included in the risk group during screening at 11-14 weeks, a dopplerometric study of the parameters of the curves of blood flow rates in the venous duct of the fetus is conducted. At the same time, all cases of fetal malformations or chromosomal pathology are excluded from further observation. After the second study, at the period of 19-21 weeks, a quantitative assessment of the curves of blood flow velocities in the venous duct is repeated and, based on the results of two studies, an increase in blood flow velocity in the late diastole phase and a decrease in the vein resistance index as a percentage are calculated. If the blood flow rate in the late diastole phase increases by less than 33%, and the value of the vein resistance index decreases by no more than 25%, then placental insufficiency and placenta-dependent pregnancy complications are predicted. If the blood flow rate of wave A increases by 33% or more, and the vein resistance index decreases by more than 25%, then an uncomplicated course of pregnancy is predicted.

EFFECT: method provides an objective and accurate prediction of placental insufficiency associated with disorders of placental-fetal blood flow in the first half of pregnancy, after the completion of remodeling of spiral arteries and the final formation of placental-fetal blood flow.
