FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for the production of target oligosaccharide by a genetically modified cell of a host microorganism, as well as to a genetically modified cell of a host microorganism used in the method. The proposed genetically modified cell of the host microorganism is intended for the production of target oligosaccharide, where the specified target oligosaccharide is selected from a group consisting of lacto-N-tetraose and lacto-N-neotetraose. The host cell contains at least one recombinant glycosyltransferase and has expression or activity of at least one endogenous protein transporting sugar, modified in such a way that expression or activity of endogenous protein exporting sugar is functionally inactivated relatively to the export of lacto-N-triose II. The cell also contains at least one homologous or heterologous nucleic acid sequence encoding protein exporting target oligosaccharide to a culture medium, in which the host cell is cultivated. The proposed cell is used in the method for the production of target oligosaccharide by the genetically modified cell of the host microorganism, where the specified target oligosaccharide is selected from the group consisting of lacto-N-tetraose and lacto-N-neotetraose.
EFFECT: invention provides for the improved export and production of large amount of target oligosaccharide.
