The invention is a method providing for the assessment of animals by type and origin, by body measurements, live weight, exterior, mares’ milking capacity, adaptive qualities and quality of offspring, while additionally performing a preliminary assessment of horses at the age of 2.5 years, selecting mares with a live weight of at least 370 kg, height at the withers of at least 148 cm, oblique trunk length of at least 148 cm, chest girth of at least 165 cm, pastern girth of at least 17.0 cm, and stallions with a live weight of at least 385 kg, height at the withers no less than 150 cm, oblique length of the trunk no less than 148 cm, breast circumference of at least 170 cm, pastern girth of at least 18.0 cm, and for further breeding, mares of the first lactation with a live weight of at least 470 kg, height at the withers of at least 153 cm, oblique trunk length of at least 154 cm, chest circumference of at least 180 cm, pastern girth of at least 19.0 cm, cup-shaped udder, flat nipples directed vertically downward, nipple length of 3.5-6.0 cm, milk yield in the third month of lactation of at least 9.5 kg, and stallions with a live weight of at least 500 kg, height at the withers of at least 155 cm, oblique trunk length of at least 154 cm, chest circumference of at least 185 cm and pastern girth of at least 19.5 cm.

EFFECT: invention will increase the pedigree stock of Kushum breed horses.
