FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biotechnology. The invention is a method of selecting Kazakh horses of the Adai offspring for breeding and relates to the field of agriculture, in particular to the breeding of farm animals, and can be used in stud farms for breeding horses of local breeds. The method provides for the assessment of animals by type and origin, body measurements, live weight, exterior, mare milkability, adaptive qualities and quality of offspring, additionally a preliminary assessment of horses at the age of 2.5 years is carried out, selecting mares with a live weight of at least 311 kg, withers height of at least 137 cm, oblique trunk length of at least 135 cm, chest circumference of at least 153 cm, pastern girth of at least 16.5 cm, and stallions with a live weight of at least 356 kg, withers height of at least 139 cm, oblique trunk length of at least 137 cm, chest circumference of at least 155 cm, the girth of the pastern is no less than 17.0 cm, and finally mares of the first lactation with a live weight of at least 390 kg, withers height of at least 142 cm, oblique trunk length of at least 145 cm, chest circumference of at least 167 cm, pastern girth of at least 17.5 cm, a cup-shaped udder, flat nipples directed vertically downward, a nipple length of 3.5-6.0 cm, milk yield in the third month of lactation of at least 9.5 kg, and stallions with a live weight of at least 435 kg, withers height no less than 145 cm, oblique trunk length no less than 147 cm, chest circumference no less than 171 cm and pastern girth no less than 18,5 cm.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the number of breeding horses, making it possible to form milking herds of mares.
