FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an orthopedic implant. The orthopedic implant contains a metal surface and a hydroxyapatite layer applied to at least part of the metal surface. The hydroxyapatite layer contains gallium ions and is crystalline, and, in XRD, forms a peak at an angle 2θ of 26±2° (002) XRD and a peak at an angle 2θ of 32±2° (112) XRD, while the peak (002) XRD has the intensity that is 1.5-10 times greater than the intensity of the peak (112) XRD.
EFFECT: obtaining coating of calcium phosphate that is quickly formed and that has a microstructure allowing uniform decomposition during a period of several weeks without the formation of particles.
