BIOMEDICAL MATERIAL BASED ON HYDROXYAPATITE AND METHOD FOR ITS PRODUCTION Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61L27/42 A61L27/54 C04B35/447 C04B35/622

Abstract RU 2782925 C1

FIELD: medical and pharmaceutical biologically active materials.

SUBSTANCE: inventions group relates to the field of medical and pharmaceutical biologically active materials that can be used in orthopedic dentistry and surgery in the restoration and treatment of bone tissue, reconstruction and replacement of damaged areas. A biomedical material based on hydroxyapatite containing an oxygen compound of titanium is proposed, while the material contains titanium dioxide or non-stoichiometric titanium dioxide as an oxygen compound of titanium, obtained by burning metallic titanium at a temperature of 600-800°C in air, in the following ratio of components (wt.%): hydroxyapatite Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2 85÷90, titanium dioxide TiO2 (rutile) or non-stoichiometric titanium dioxide TiO1.9 (rutile) 15÷10, while particles of titanium dioxide TiO2 or non-stoichiometric titanium dioxide TiO1.9 no larger than 0.5 µm are distributed evenly throughout the entire volume of the hydroxyapatite matrix. The method for obtaining the above biomedical material includes mixing powders of the initial components, taken in the ratio (wt.%): hydroxyapatite Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2 85-90; titanium dioxide TiO2 (rutile) or non-stoichiometric titanium dioxide TiO1.9 (rutile) 15-10, pressing at a pressure of 20-30 MPa followed by heat treatment at a temperature of 1000-1010°C for 0.5-1.0 hours.

EFFECT: biomedical material has increased mechanical hardness relative to the prototype, while maintaining high biocompatibility with bone tissue.
