FIELD: physical processes.
SUBSTANCE: method for processing the shell of a soft or hard capsule for the purpose of reducing or eliminating stress in the capsule shell. The method includes the stage of heating at least a section of the shell of a soft or hard capsule to a temperature higher than the glass point of the capsule shell but lower than the melt point of the capsule shell for a time sufficient to reduce the internal stress in the capsule shell.
EFFECT: method can be used to reduce fracturing in the shells of hard or soft capsules by applying heat treatment to the filled capsule shells after manufacturing and filling.
