FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a composition and a method for reducing scale formation in plants for the production of phosphoric acid and ammonium phosphate. A method for reducing scale formation includes adding to the first phosphate composition, containing phosphoric acid and calcium sulfate, an aqueous composition reducing scale formation. The composition reducing scale formation contains 5-15 wt.% of polyamino polyester methylene tetraphosphonate, 1-50 wt.% of copolymer of acrylic acid and 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid, 2-15 wt.% of copolymer of acrylic acid and hydroxypolyethoxy allyl ether, and water.
EFFECT: scale formation is slowed down on surfaces in contact with phosphoric acid, which increases the time between cleanings and increases the productivity of the plant.
