SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optoelectronics, nano- and microelectronics, and can be used to create a thermal imager with an optical output based on a hybrid or monolithic infrared (IR) or terahertz (THz) photodetector (PD), including a multispectral one. Transformation or change of the spectrum in imaging of a sequence of images invisible to the eye is a relevant scientific problem. In order to reduce the weight and size characteristics, ensure the limit of microminiaturisation and compactness of the design, significant expansion of the range of application, the thermal imager with an optical output is made on the basis of a frameless hybrid or monolithic PD in the form of a hybrid microassembly of a crystal with an array (matrix) n×m of photodetectors (PD) and a multiplexer crystal, with an additional (third) crystal of light emitters of the same format, or in the form of a multiplexer with PD arrays integrated thereon and an additional (second) crystal of light emitters of the same dimension.

EFFECT: invention can be used, e.g., for creating thermal imagers with an optical output based on hybrid or monolithic PD of images of IR spectral ranges, or based on uncooled matrix microbolometric receivers of IR and THz range emission; application of the invention can provide an increase in the manufacturability of the thermal imager, structural simplification of the thermal imager, simplification of the manufacturing technology, reduction in the manufacturing complexity, reduction in the weight and size characteristics, increase in the percentage of yield of useful products, reduction in the prime cost, and significant expansion of the area of application of thermal imagers with an optical output based on a hybrid or monolithic PD.
