FIELD: medicine; pulmonology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict the risk of a clinically significant decrease in the control of bronchial asthma (BA) caused by a seasonal decrease in air temperature to an average daily value of -20°C and below. In the warm season, the single nucleotide polymorphism rs7577262 of the TRPM8 gene is genotyped. The forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1) is measured. The gender of the subject and the result of the BA control score according to the Asthma Control Test (ACT) questionnaire are taken into account. The value of F is calculated by the following formula (1): F = -8.79178 + 0.08537× FEV1 - 1.49217× ACT+1.93829× Gender + 1.91540× rs7577262. The risk probability of a clinically significant decrease in BA control is calculated using the following formula: P = 1/(1 + e-F), where F is the value obtained by calculation by formula (1). At P>0.58, a decrease in BA control by 5 or more points from the initial one is predicted according to the ACT questionnaire in the season with an average daily air temperature of -20°C and below. At P≤0.58, a low risk of a decrease in BA control by 5 or more points from the baseline is predicted according to the ACT questionnaire.
EFFECT: method provides the ability to predict a clinically significant decrease in BA control with the onset of a season with a low air temperature by using an original calculation formula that takes into account genotyping data, FEV1 values, the patient's gender and the initial level of BA control in the warm season of the year according to the ACT questionnaire.
