FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method consists in using a polymerase chain reaction for genotyping oligonucleotide polymorphism of rs6606743 gene of cationic channels with transient receptor potential TRPV4, additionally performing spirometric measurement of forced expiratory volume for first second (PRM1) and forced lung capacity (FVC) with calculation of ratio of PRM1/FVC. Calculating probability of formation of osmotic hyper-reactivity of airways (P) using a formula. By comparing obtained probability with limit value 0.46, determining risk of osmotic hyper-activity of airways. If P is greater than limit value, a high risk of osmotic hyper-activity of airways is predicted.

EFFECT: using declared method provides new criteria for prediction of risk of osmotic hyper-activity of airways in patients with bronchial asthma with high accuracy.
