SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of construction of transport and other structures on permafrost. An earthwork on permafrost with a transverse slope of the terrain contains a body of a structure erected on a territory with natural conditions, and a surface zone with natural conditions disturbed as a result of the construction of the body of the earthwork, which is directly adjacent to the body of the structure, while the earthwork is located on a transverse slope. The earthwork is located on ice grounds and contains, on the border of the surface zone with disturbed natural conditions and the territory with natural conditions, a protective array of height "h" and width "b" from low-moisture soil, located along the border of the body of the structure, where "h" is equal to the level difference soil in frozen and fluid states during thawing, and "b" is determined from the conditions of stability of the protective array after thawing and spreading of ice soil from the side of the body of the structure.

EFFECT: ensuring the safety of the territory surrounding the earthwork after the construction of the earthwork itself.
