FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to snow protection of existing and under construction roads and railways in permafrost areas. Snow retention enclosure is made in the form of a fence containing vertical filling posts and horizontal filling elements. Enclosure comprises cooling system made of cooling racks with depth of 10–20 m, consisting of pipes with single hollow through cavity closed at both ends, and installed in plane of intake at distance from each other, equal to distance of thermal interference. Elements secured to the horizontal filling of cooling racks emplacement depth of 10-20 m, and h = he+ hv; v = k⋅he ; d ≥ 0.5 m; he ≥ 10.0 m; hv ≥ hsn, where h, hu, hv, hsn - cooling the entire height respectively depth of laying rack 10–20 m its underground and elevated parts, snow deposits, m; v is distance between cooling strips of deposit depth of 10–20 m, m; d is cavity diameter, m; k is dimensionless coefficient, k = (1.5÷2.0).
EFFECT: technical result is providing preservation of permafrost in the presence of large amounts of snow in the zone of snow-retaining enclosure.
