FIELD: permafrost construction.
SUBSTANCE: construction of engineering structures in the permafrost zone, namely a soil cooling system. The slope part of an earthen structure on permafrost contains a soil mass with a slope made in the form of a surface inclined to the horizontal, and a thermal insulation coating located within the entire area of the slope. The thermal insulation coating contains a vegetation cover, and the slope part in its cross section contains a continuous series of stepped ledges in the soil mass, the surface of which is covered with rigid thermal insulation, and the cavities are filled with soil backfill. The stepped ledges have the shape of a triangle with an obtuse angle directed towards the soil mass, while the lower side of the triangle has an incline towards the horizontal, and the inner side, located on the side of the soil mass, towards the vertical of at least 2% with the direction of the inclines towards the slope, and the outer side triangle, located on the side of the airspace, is aligned with the surface of the slope. Rigid thermal insulation is made in the form of polystyrene foam slabs, laid continuously on the lower side of the triangle, and on the inner side with gaps of up to 3 cm. The vegetation cover consists of an additional layer of soil up to 30 cm thick, located on the surface of the slope, the above-ground grass thermal insulation part and the root system, located in the cavity of the stepped ledges and in an additional layer of soil favourable for the germination of the grass insulating part.
EFFECT: increasing the reliability of thermal insulation protection of the slope part of an earthen structure on permafrost from temperature influences.
