FIELD: electronic technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electronic technology, in particular to traveling wave (TWT) O-type tubes. The multipath TWT contains a delay line (DL) type in the form of a twisted metal waveguide of rectangular cross-section, in which flat sections of the wide sides of the waveguide with holes for span channels have a length L, m equal to the length of an integer n of half-wave lengths of the electromagnetic wave λB, m, of the basic type TE01, L=n⋅(0,5⋅λB)TE01, m, and the number of m span channels in the DL and the dimensions d, m, of the holes for span channels in the direction along the flat sections of the waveguide correspond to the condition 1<m≤(n⋅λB/3d), where m is an integer. In a multipath electron gun, the number of cathode emitters is equal to the number of span channels of the DL, and the axes of the cathode emitters coincide with the axes of the span channels; in the design of the electron collector, its part facing the DL has a shape and dimensions that ensure the passage of electron flows from all m span channels into its internal volume; the pole tips of the magnetic focusing system have at least n holes, the axes and the number of which coincide with the axes and the number of span channels in the DL.
EFFECT: increase in the output power and gain of the TWT with a delay line (DL) of the twisted waveguide type, a reduction in the length of its DL, a reduction in the size and mass of the magnets of the magnetic focusing system and ensuring effective heat removal from the nodes of the TWL to the surface of the thermostabilizing element in the equipment.
