FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electronic engineering, particularly to slowing-down systems (SD) for traveling-wave tubes (TWT) and reverse-wave tubes (RWT). Technical result is achieved due to that the waveguide retarder system comprises a microwave input, a microwave output and a metal waveguide of rectangular cross-section bent so that flat sections of its wide sides repeatedly cross the longitudinal axis of the formed SD in planes perpendicular to this axis. In the flat sections of the wide sides of the waveguide there are openings forming passage channels for the passage channels, the axes of which are parallel to longitudinal axis SD and are located in the plane parallel to narrow sides of the waveguide and dividing the wide sides of the waveguide into halves.
EFFECT: technical result of present invention is reduction of losses of microwave power in waveguide SD of O-type TWT, increase of output power and efficiency of O-type TWT, as well as reduction of length of SD.
