FIELD: medical technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of material for bone implants used in orthopedic surgery for the restoration and treatment of bone tissue. A method for obtaining a composite material for bone implants includes obtaining an initial powder mixture containing, wt. %: hydroxyapatite 75-80; zirconium oxide 5-10; silicic acid 15-16; pressing the resulting mixture at a pressure of 20-25 MPa and subsequent sintering at a temperature of 1000-1050°C for 1.0-1.5 hours. In this case, the particle size of the initial mixture is no more than 5 microns.
EFFECT: method provides a composite material for bone implants having high porosity along with sufficiently high hardness values, which will provide high biocompatibility with bone tissue and a reduced rate of biodegradation during bone tissue restoration.
