SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to methods for feeding an animal for providing a healthy effect in an animal by means of a food ration with periodical calorie reduction. Methods include feeding an animal with nutrition with a supportive calorie, containing calories that satisfy animal needs for energy for life support for a supportive calorie period, or feeding an animal with nutrition without limiting calorie consumption for ad libitum feeding period, as well as feeding an animal with nutrition with reduced calorie, containing from 40% to 80% of calories contained in a food ration with supportive calorie for a reduced calorie period or satisfying daily animal need for energy for life support for a reduced calorie period. The supportive calorie period or ad libitum period and the reduced calorie period are in a ratio of 4:3 or 5:2.

EFFECT: use of the group of inventions will allow for achievement of healthy effects for animals.
