SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to refining elements for a wood pulp refiner, wood pulp refiners, and a method for processing wood fibres, wherein the refining element includes a refining body with a refining surface including first and second refining plates separated by first and second refining grooves, respectively. The first refining plates extend from the radially internal position to a first radially external position. The second refining plates extend to a second radially external position closer to the farthermost from the centre part of the refining body than the first radially external position. The second refining plates have a length in the longitudinal direction ranging from approximately 0.6 cm to approximately 10 cm. The first and second refining plates have the corresponding first and second maximum height extending upwards from the bottom of the corresponding adjacent first or second refining groove. The second maximum height is at least 0.35 mm less than the first maximum height. The first refining plates are configured to refine wood fibres, and the second refining plates are configured to grinde fibre bundles.
EFFECT: technical result is an improved technology of wood refining.
