SUBSTANCE: invention relates to dental equipment, namely to dental handpieces intended for use in dental procedures in a doctor's office. The dental handpiece contains a handpiece and a housing with an optical radiation source in the form of at least one LED connected to an electrical power source, while it is equipped with an optical sensor that can be connected to visual display means. The housing has a transparent protective window of the optical sensor, the tip has a means for supplying compressed air to the transparent protective window, the body has an opening for supplying compressed air to the transparent protective window connected to the means for supplying compressed air, and a diffuser is located in the opening, which is configured to create air jet forming an air curtain.

EFFECT: device allows to provide reliable protection of the optical sensor due to the implementation of the air curtain.
