SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to plastic and maxillofacial surgery, and can be used to study the condition of the soft tissues of the middle and lower thirds of the face, neck. Cone-beam computed tomography is performed in the patient's sitting position, the head is fixed in such a way that the sagittal projection is perpendicular to the horizontal surface of the floor, the line of the physiological horizontal is parallel to the horizontal surface of the floor. Then the horizontal line of the laser beam is set along the line of closing of the lips, the vertical line - along the line passing through the tragus of the auricle. In this case, the thickness of the scanning layer is 5 mm, the step is 5 mm, the scanning conditions are: voltage on the tube 60 kV, current strength 12 mA, exposure 29 s.
EFFECT: method provides the ability to assess the condition of the soft tissues of the middle and lower thirds of the face and neck through the use of the stated parameters of the cone-beam computed tomography.
