SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology. A method for predicting the volume of surgery and correction of postoperative hypothyroidism in patients with toxic forms of goiter is proposed, based on determining the presence or absence of Val174Ala polymorphism in the human SLCO1B1 gene before surgery.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to provide a personalized approach to the selection of the volume of surgical intervention and the maximum safe dose of L-thyroxine for the correction of postoperative hypothyroidism in patients with toxic forms of goiter.
