SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method of splicing two sheets of material containing alkaloids and a system for splicing two sheets of material containing alkaloids. Method of splicing two sheets of material containing alkaloids includes: providing a first sheet of material containing alkaloids wound on a first coil; providing a second sheet of material containing alkaloids wound on a second coil; unwinding a first sheet of material containing alkaloids wound on a first coil; evaluating, in the unwound first sheet of material containing alkaloids, one or more of the following parameters: moisture content of the first sheet of material containing alkaloids; thickness of the first sheet of material containing alkaloids; width of the first sheet of material containing alkaloids; tackiness of the first sheet of material containing alkaloids; presence or absence of holes or breaks in the first sheet of material containing alkaloids; and depending on the value of one or more parameters - unwinding a second sheet of material containing alkaloids wound on a second reel; splicing the first sheet of material containing alkaloids and the second sheet of material containing alkaloids.
EFFECT: providing high speed of material processing, in particular, when replacing an unwound or empty coil with a new coil.
