FIELD: construction industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to construction, namely to devices for studying the deformation, strength and rheological characteristics of soils by ground with a plate probe during engineering and geological surveys, and can be used to determine the quality of the ground foundations of buildings and various earthworks. The device for probing the ground contains a wedge-shaped plate tip with an oval cross-section in the form of a flattened ellipse, with the upper edge of the wedge-shaped lower part of the plate made concentrically, a cable rangefinder, an electronic-converting unit, a computer and a hollow rod. The longitudinal section of a wedge-shaped plate tip with an oval cross-section in the form of a flattened ellipse is made combined, consisting of at least two sections of different thicknesses with a smooth uniform transition from one thickness to another, on one of the sides of which pressure sensors are mounted, while the edges of a smooth uniform transition are made concentrically to pressure sensors.
EFFECT: providing the possibility of determining the strength properties of the ground of specific adhesion and the angle of internal friction and increasing the accuracy and reliability of determining the deformation and rheological characteristics of the ground.
