FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, namely an electrosurgical instrument and an electrosurgical system for cutting and ablating biological tissues. The instrument contains a coaxial power cable for transmitting microwave energy and radio frequency energy, an emitting tip. The coaxial power cable contains an inner conductor, an outer conductor, and the first dielectric material separating the inner conductor and the outer conductor. The emitting tip is located at the distal end of the coaxial cable for receiving microwave energy and radio frequency energy. The tip contains the main part of the tip, the first electrode, and the second electrode. The main part of the tip is made of the second dielectric material, has the proximal end and the distal end, contains an end surface at the distal end of the main part of the tip. The proximal end of the main part of the tip is connected to the distal end of the coaxial power cable. The distal end of the main part of the tip is facing away from the coaxial power cable. Electrodes are located on the end surface of the main part of the tip. The second electrode is separated from the first electrode by a part of the open second dielectric material. The first electrode is electrically connected to the inner conductor of the coaxial power cable by means of a conductive element. The element passes through a channel in the main part of the tip. The second electrode is electrically connected to the outer conductor of the coaxial cable by means of a conductive structure. The conductive structure defines a shape of a field, which is formed in or on the main part of the tip. Electrodes are made as active and return electrodes for delivering radio frequency energy. The conductive element and the conductive structure defining the shape of the field are made as an antenna for emitting microwave energy. The conductive structure defining the shape of the field is made with the possibility of defining a profile shape of emission of microwave energy emitted from the emitting tip. The electrosurgical system contains an electrosurgical generator, an electrosurgical instrument. The generator is designed to supply microwave energy and radio frequency energy. The instrument is connected to receive microwave energy and radio frequency energy from the electrosurgical generator.
EFFECT: due to the combination of design features of an electrosurgical instrument, including the location of electrodes, a conductive element passing through a channel of the main part of a tip, there is a possibility of radiofrequency cutting and microwave ablation of biological tissues, delivery of microwave energy to target tissue, while minimizing the impact on surrounding healthy tissues.
