FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: presented are: polynucleotides and application thereof, vector and expression cassette, interfering ribonucleic acid, composition and application thereof for preventing an outbreak of pest insects Monolepta hieroglyphica (Motschulsky), and methods used to control an insect outbreak. The isolated polynucleotide therein contains: (a) a polynucleotide sequence as shown in SEQ ID NO:1; or (b) a polynucleotide sequence of at least 121 consecutive nucleotides SEQ ID NO: 1, wherein the growth of a pest of the Coleoptera order is inhibited when the pest of the Coleoptera order consumes a double-stranded RNA containing at least one chain complementary to the described polynucleotide sequence; or (c) any polynucleotide sequence as shown in SEQ ID NO: 3 - SEQ ID NO: 6.
EFFECT: invention provides the possibility of inhibiting the growth of pest insect Monolepta hieroglyphica (Motschulsky), thereby effectively protecting plants from this type of insects.
