SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biotechnology. The invention is a method for increasing the viability and fertility of the Drosophila fruit fly (Drosophila melanogaster), includes the use of an artificial nutrient medium. A distinctive feature of the method is that it additionally introduces a dialcoholized aqueous solution of an extract of Japanese rheinutria plants (Reynoutria japonica) in an amount of 3-5% by weight of the nutrient medium.
EFFECT: present invention improves the viability and fertility of the Drosophila fruit fly (Drosophila melanogaster).
