FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical equipment, namely to a unit for sterilizing a surgical examination device, using plasma. The unit contains a sterilization instrument. At the same time, the instrument contains an elongated probe, a probe tip, and a gas pipeline. The sterilization instrument is inserted through a longitudinal channel. The channel passes along an inserted tube of the surgical examination device. The probe contains a coaxial cable for transmitting radio frequency electromagnetic energy and/or microwave EM energy, a probe tip, and a gas pipeline for transporting gas to the probe tip. The elongated probe contains a protective coupling. The coupling forms a cavity, through which the coaxial cable passes. The gas pipeline is an annular passage formed between the outer surface of the coaxial cable and the inner surface of the protective coupling. The coaxial cable contains an internal conductor, an external conductor, and dielectric material separating the internal conductor from the external conductor. The probe tip is attached at the distal end of the coaxial cable for receiving radio frequency and/or microwave energy, and it contains the first electrode, the second electrode, and an insulating cap. In this case, the first electrode is connected to the internal conductor of the coaxial cable, and it passes in the longitudinal direction in the inner volume. The second electrode is connected to the external conductor of the coaxial cable, and it surrounds the inner volume of the probe tip. The insulating cap is installed at the distal end of the coaxial cable for isolating the coaxial cable from the inner volume, namely in the second electrode, wherein the second electrode is a cylinder, which is installed inside the annular passage of the gas pipeline at its distal end. The gas pipeline is in a fluid communication with the inner volume along a flow path formed between the insulating cap and the second electrode. The first electrode and the second electrode are made with the possibility of reception of radio frequency and/or microwave energy from the coaxial cable for creating an electric field in the inner volume for igniting plasma in it. The probe tip contains an outlet for releasing plasma from the inner volume. The second electrode is serrated with provision of longitudinal grooves in the cylinder, which provide a flow path to ensure the flow of gas around the insulating cap.
EFFECT: device is provided for sterilizing a surgical examination device, using plasma, with a flow path of gas from a gas pipeline into a volume surrounded by a serrated electrode.
