ELECTROSURGICAL INSTRUMENT FOR ABLATION Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61B18/18 A61B18/14

Abstract RU 2777551 C2

FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, namely to an electrosurgical instrument and an electrosurgical device for delivery of microwave energy to biological tissue. The electrosurgical instrument contains a flexible coaxial cable, a radiating part of a tip. The flexible coaxial cable is made with the possibility of transmission of microwave energy. The radiating part of the tip is rigid to provide the possibility of insertion into biological tissues, and it is connected to the distal end of the coaxial cable, and is designed to receive microwave energy. The radiating part contains a proximal coaxial transmission line and a distal needle tip. The proximal coaxial transmission line is designed to transmit microwave energy. The distal needle tip is mounted at the distal end of the coaxial transmission line and is made with the possibility of functioning as a half-wave converter for delivery of microwave energy from the distal needle tip. The electrosurgical device contains a surgical viewing device and an electrosurgical instrument. The surgical viewing device has an instrument trunk. The trunk is made with the possibility of being injected into the patient’s body, and it has an instrumental channel made through it. The electrosurgical instrument is made in such a way that its dimensions allow it to be inserted through the instrumental channel.

EFFECT: electrosurgical instrument and electrosurgical device are provided for delivery of microwave energy to biological tissues for the purpose of ablation of target tissues, while the configuration of a distal needle tip as a half-wave converter minimizes reflection at the interface of a coaxial cable and a proximal coaxial transmission line, as well as between the proximal coaxial transmission line and the distal needle tip.
