SUBSTANCE: proposed are a method for producing PUFA-containing biomass by culturing PUFA-producing cells of the Thraustochytriaceae family in a fermentation medium in conditions of sulphate content adjustment - by reducing to zero in the second half of the growth phase; and PUFA-containing biomass produced by the claimed method.

EFFECT: production of easily degradable biomass characterised by a high mass fraction of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) in the finished product.
