FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely obstetrics and gynecology, neonatology, and can be used to predict cerebral ischemia in newborns by examining pregnant women. In pregnant women with preeclampsia at the gestation period of 30-40 weeks, upon admission to the hospital before the start of therapy, blood pressure (BP) is measured twice on one arm with an interval of at least 1 minute. The average blood pressure (ABP) and microcirculation index (MI) are determined. The average systolic blood pressure (ASBP) in mmHg and the average diastolic blood pressure (ADBP) in mmHg is determined according to the formulas:
ASBP = (SBP1 + SBP2)/2, ADBP = (DBP1 + DBP2)/2, where:
SBP1, DBP1 is the primary measurement of SBP and DBP;
SBP2, DBP2 is the repeated measurement of SBP and DBP.
Next, the average blood pressure (ABP) in mmHg is calculated using the formula:
ABP = (SBP+2×DBP)/3.
Then the prognostic index D is calculated using the formula:
D = 21.9266 - 0.2279 × A1 + 0.3977 × A2, where:
A1 – ABP level, mmHg;
A2 – MI, perfusion units;
21.9266 – CONSTANT.
With D less than 0, the development of cerebral ischemia in the early neonatal period is predicted in newborns born to mothers with preeclampsia. With D greater than 0, the absence of cerebral ischemia in the early neonatal period is predicted in newborns born to mothers with preeclampsia.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase the accuracy of predicting cerebral ischemia in newborns from mothers with preeclampsia by determining the average blood pressure and microcirculation index in pregnant women before the start of therapy, followed by calculating the prognostic index using a mathematical apparatus.
