FIELD: video technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means for encoding video. Syntax elements are decoded based on one or more of the many contexts used in binary entropy decoding. Moreover, at least one of the many contexts is initialized based on the quantization parameter, the slope value and the offset value. Moreover, the slope value and the offset value are four-bit variables determined based on different parts of the 8-bit initialization value associated with at least one context mentioned. The video is restored on the basis of entropically decoded syntax elements and the quantization parameter.
EFFECT: increase in coding efficiency.
