FIELD: video encoding means.
SUBSTANCE: binarisation of horizontal and vertical components of motion vector differences is debinarized. Video is predictively encoded by motion-compensated prediction using motion vectors, wherein the horizontal and vertical components of the motion vector differences represent the prediction error with respect to the motion vectors. Each of the binarisations of the horizontal and vertical components includes a prefix bin string having two fixed-length binary codes based on a cutoff value equal to two, and a suffix bin string having an exponential Golomb code with a fixed order, given as one, wherein the first of the two fixed-length binary codes indicates whether the absolute value of the difference of the motion vectors is greater than zero, and the second of the two fixed-length binary codes indicates whether the absolute value of the difference of the motion vectors is greater than one, and the exponential Golomb code represents the remainder of the absolute value of the difference of the motion vectors above the cut-off value minus one.
EFFECT: high efficiency of video encoding.
